I need pelvic support...
Try the Axia Office or Axia
Plus range of chairs. These are specifically designed to provide
support directly to the pelvis, rotating the pelvis and encouraging
natural alignment of the spine. Try the Axia Plus
if you feel you need neck support at the same time.
I have neck/shoulder pain...
Many of the chairs we provide can help with neck pain, such as the
RH Logic, Axia, Rabami,
Opera, HAG etc. However,
the root cause may be very simple, and associated with the positioning
of your monitor, or the way you use your mouse or keyboard. Keeping
your neck in a relaxed and neutral position is crucial.
I have pain in my coccyx bone...
Take a look at the RH Logic range which
offers a special coccyx cut-out in the seat, or the BodyBilt
range with its S'ports memory foam technology designed to reduce pressure.
What about people who are of larger stature?
The BodyBilt range has a chair especially
designed for users up to 500lbs, combined with a free float mechanism,
contoured seat and inflatable lumbar support.
I can't sit down for very long...
Take a look at our range of sit/stand
seating, and also our height adjustable desks.
These will allow you to vary your posture from a standing position,
to perching, and sitting down at standard desk height.
There are many more reasons you may have for wanting a posture chair.
We are more than happy to give you advice on your needs...
I'm pregnant and find it difficult to sit in a
standard chair.
Take a look at our 'Alternative' Seating
section. Sitting on a kneeling chair will allow you to drop your knees
while sitting down, freeing your bump and increasing blood flow.
I have heard of the 'kneeling' chairs. What are
they for?
Humans are designed to stand up. Sitting down
in the traditional way raises the knees and closes off the pelvic
angle (between the spine and the thighs), causing the lower back (lumbar)
to stretch and come out of its natural curve. This increases the strain
on your spine and causes the muscles in the lower back to spasm as
they try to get back into the neutral position.
The concept of the kneeling chair is to open up
the pelvic angle so that the spine is in its natural 'S' shaped curve.
Take a look at the 'Alternative' chairs
to see the concept in more detail.
Many of our chairs are designed to allow you to sit with a more open
pelvic angle. Please contact us if you would like more advice on this
issue.
